Bon Iver


American indie folk band Bon Iver was founded by singer-songwriter Justin Vernon. Bon Iver’s name comes from the French phrase “bon hiver” which means good winter originating from the time Vernon spent in a remote cabin in Wisconsin recording his debut album For Emma, Forever Ago (2008). Bon Iver’s eponymous second album (2011) took the band into a new musical direction, with the introduction of new instruments and featuring well known musicians like Colin Stetson (bass saxophone) and Greg Leisz (pedal-steel guitar).
